Bring the Outdoors to your Indoors with Needle Felted Creatures!
I am inspired to use needle felting to capture the joy of discovering small things in nature. It's easy to be impressed by the big things: mountains, redwood trees, and waterfalls. However, I find the little things can turn any time outdoors into an adventure of appreciation. The daring of a chipmunk, the persistence of a woodpecker, or the alertness of a chickadee can brighten my day. I hope my felted creations provide a way to bring those moments of joy into your days as well!
Important Things to Know About Felted Creations
These felted sculptures are intended as home decorations... not as toys for children! They have small pieces, wire framing, and sometimes delicate structures that would be unsafe for little ones.
Dogs and cats love wool creations... so be sure to keep your purchases out of their reach!
Also, please know that each of my creations is an original. Each one may differ in small ways from the items in my photos. There could be variations in color, texture, or exact shaping of the animal. Like twins that look similar, each one is unique in its own way!

This beautiful Golden Retriever is a star in the show ring, and amongst my felted creations. She was created on commission from only a few photos, but her personality came shining through!
This commissioned commemorative piece highlights this beautiful Golden Retriever's beauty and brains. This is how Brett looked as he dazzled the judges in the show ring!
This sweet greyhound was created from photos of a friend's very special canine companion. Her coat was a challenge , as some of the spots show through from the skin below, but some are actually part of her fur. Her playful expression and flying ears are hints of her joyful personality. As you can see, she loves to play!
This 5-1/2 inch tall miniature of my dog, Rio, was a whole new challenge! Grooming the miniature was every bit as hard as grooming the real thing. I'm not ready to take custom orders yet, but will be attempting a variety of breeds to see if I can offer that service in the future. This is such a fun way to memorialize the pets that bless our lives!
This /2D portrait of our wondeful Bentley was supposed to be easy in comparison to a 3D sculpture... but it wasn't so. The challenges of creating depth on a flat surface were a stretch of my skills. I'll be experimenting more to paint with wool!
This flying greyhound was created from photos of a friend's very special canine companion. It was fun to create the coat, which has spotted skin that shows through the short haired top coat. The muscles, proportions, and detail were critical. I was so happy to find a way to capture Breeze in full stride!

Natural Wool Coasters
These coasters are made from 100% undyed wool, and are not only cute, but absorbent as well. At over 1/4 inch thick, they will protect surfaces and cushion the sound of mugs or glasses being set on tabletops. More designs to come!
